Nico Slate (CCS ’92) penned this lovely piece for the Pittsburgh Post-GazettePittsburgh has Embraced its Heritage has a City of Immigrants.  Nico is currently an Associate Professor of History at Carnegie Mellon University. He holds degrees from Stanford University and Oxford University as well has his Ph.D. in History from Harvard University.  Read more about Nico here:  NSlate

Jesse Young (CCS ’96) co-wrote this piece with Dr. Jonathan Pershing in the Huffington PostThere’s No Going Back: The World is Acting on Climate Change. Jesse is currently a Foreign Affairs Officer, U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Change in the U.S. State Department.  Prior to that position, Jesse was a Legislative Aid to Chris Murphy (D-CT) in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.  Jesse holds his B.A. from Wesleyan University.
