Go Radio! (Ages 5-10)

Space Adventure?  Fairy Tale?  Soap Opera?  Welcome to the exciting world of Radio Drama!  In this class we'll explore audio artistry through voice acting and live sound effects!  Each kid friendly script we record will be presented on a flash drive at the end of the session.

Tennis (Ages 5-10)

TGA’s curriculum includes station-based tennis and fitness activities along with games that improve motor skills, agility, hand-eye coordination and over all tennis skills. The nationally recognized certified TGA coaching team brings the court to the playground and provides all of the equipment for tennis, fitness and fun! New this summer: Campers will participate in an end of session USTA Net Generation Team Challenge to showcase their new and / or improved skills!

Cooking for All! (Ages 5-10)

Everyone is welcome in this kitchen! We’ll be making different foods from snacks to desserts. And plenty of tasting along the way! All skill levels come join us in this hands-on cooking adventure and try something new (or an old favorite!). Each class will try what they made that day and everyone gets the class recipes at the end of the session.

This is a nut free class, however some ingredients used may be processed on shared facilities. If meat is being used (no pork) there will always be a vegetarian option available. This class is NOT recommended for children with ANY food allergies or dietary restrictions beyond vegetarian.

Dramatics (Ages 5-10)

Become a better storyteller in this fun, creative, and interactive drama class! This class is filled with silly drama and theatre games that will allow the kids to build creative characters.  They will explore the art of commercial acting and learn to read scripts as they bring the words on the page to life! So, if you are full of Drama, you will love "Dramatics!"

Amusement Park Engineering (Ages 5-8)

Students will explore the world of engineering while designing their own exciting rides, using cutting-edge technology and electronics. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of physics and science.
*Students will take home every model built throughout the course!

Arts Exploration (Ages 5-10)

This class will introduce a variety of materials and techniques for students to experiment with image making. It will include watercolor, charcoal drawing, stamp making, painting, and clay while using brushed, sticks, and handmade tools for mark making. Projects will include several 2-D images and one sculpture.

Seal Robotics (Ages 7-10)

In this course students will learn and explore sea, air, and land technology. students use infra-red remote controls, transmission gears and other electronic tools, and develop thinking strategies, motor skills and dedication.

Painting (Ages 5-10)

In this class, we will experiment using various paints (watercolor, colored pencils that turn into watercolor when wet, tempera paint, with different size/shaped brushes on different kinds of paper. We will also explore wax (crayon/oil pastel) with paint (watercolor) resist. Subject matter will include portrait, still life and landscape.

Printmaking (Ages 7-10)

Students in this class will work on the school’s intaglio press to create multilayered prints. Learn the basics of relief printing and color mixing for inks.

Woodworking (Ages 5-10)

In this class students will be making long and precise cuts, drilling their own holes and will cut and chisel their own dados and rabbits. As always students will be learning how to measure accurately and use squares to make right angles. This summer we will plan to make 2 or more small projects during each session. There will be lots of nailing, gluing, sawing, sanding and painting.

C is for Chocolate! (Ages 5-10)

Join us for some kitchen fun where there’s always chocolate to be had! We’ll be making different recipes, some traditional and some new (or with a twist) but all will feature chocolate in some form. Each day we’ll have a tasting of what we’ve made and everyone gets recipes at the end of the session.

Mad Science of Los Angeles conducts educational, entertaining and hands-on science, engineering and technology activities for elementary age children. Our mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere. We do this by providing them with fun, interactive and educational activities that instill a clearer understanding of science and how it affects the world around us!

Creative Crafts! (Ages 5-10)

Come join the fun in our arts and crafts class. We’ll work on great projects that allow for your child’s creativity to shine! Everything we make the kids will get to take home. All ages and skill levels are welcome!

Hip Hop (Ages 5-10)

In this high-energy, age-appropriate class, kids will learn fun hip-hop techniques and combinations. This class will allow hip hoppers to have fun dancing to a variety of funky hip hop beats as they begin to develop their coordination, musicality, body awareness and overall performance. We will create a fun environment by using creative games, props, and engaging activities. All music is kid appropriate.

Ceramics (Ages 5-10)

This class will teach the fundamentals of using clay to create a variety of ceramic pieces. Students will be introduced to techniques like coiling, rolling out slabs, and glazing. Projects include pitch pots, masks, cups, bowls, & beads.

Self-Portraiture (Ages 5-10)

This class will explore various concepts & art mediums to depict the self...some art will be more literal self-portraits while others will be broader, more conceptual portraits. Drawing, painting, photography & collage will be used.
