This session in our Hand Sewing class as always, we will be having fun while learning basic and some more advanced hand stitches. Attendants will pick an individual project to work on. Depending on the participants level we will be sewing a multitude of choices- color selection, fabric options, design and proportion to help kids stimulate their creative thinking skills. Completing a project fosters a sense of accomplishment. Hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills develop through the use of the hands, and exercises in following directions along with problem solving skills are all added benefits of sewing experiences for children.

In this class students will be making long and precise cuts, drilling their own holes and will cut and chisel their own dados and rabbits. As always students will be learning how to measure accurately and use squares to make right angles. There will be lots of nailing, gluing, sawing, sanding, and painting.
Tell your story one frame at a time! Students will make their own movies through the magic of photography and stop motion animation using whatever materials they choose. Every student will receive a flash drive at the end of the session containing all the movies we made in class!

Checkmate! In this class, we introduce chess through exciting stories, games, and special techniques, allowing children to develop their skills in a short period of time. This class is great for all skill levels. Through this historic and challenging game, students will develop their analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. At the end of the session, there will be a tournament with trophies, ribbons, and prizes. Learn how to play chess for the first time or develop your current chess game – see you in class!
Skills, Drills, and Games-high-energy program introducing children to fundamental martial arts elements, like blocks, kicks, strikes, and the all important KI-YAH! Through skill training, fun games, creative challenges, and pad work on foam targets, children develop self-confidence and learn to enjoy being physically active in a non-contact setting. KI-YAH!
This class will cover the basics of working with clay. Projects will include handbuilding, sculpting with clay, firing clay, and glazing projects with non-toxic food safe glazes. Class projects will include pinch pots and animal sculptures.
Let's learn to dance like the pros and turn, leap, chasse, and pas de bouree into the summer! All things jazz dance will be taught in this class, from warm up to cool down. Kids will learn challenging and fun dance skills and work towards creating an inventive and show stopping performance for parents! Let's see those jazz hands!
Something mysterious is happening at the Academy! Cookies have been snatched, trophies have been taken, a mascot is missing, a notebook has vanished into thin air, and most importantly - Professor Egghead's prized portrait has been STOLEN! Come join the Egghead Detective Squad this session as we dust for prints, decode messages, analyze DNA, and use real forensic science techniques to crack the cases. The best part? Eggheads take everything home at the end of each class!
Want to learn how to do a handstand? Bend over backward on a bridge? Students in TumbKidz will get to learn a wide array of tumbling tricks while becoming more flexible and confident along the way. Each class will begin with a warm-up including split, back, and wrist stretches, and will focus on a certain skill set so that students can learn at their own pace. Let's have some fun!
This class will introduce the process of relief printing using a cylinder press. Students will create a multilayered print utilizing transparent colors and overlapping shapes. Students will also be introduced to materials for printmaking and create personal projects.
Cookies, cakes, and pies oh my! In this class, students will learn how to bake a variety of delectable foods, from scrumptious sugar cookies to savory pastries! Students will learn to apply their math skills measuring and doubling recipes, the science behind ingredient selection, and express their creative talents while decorating and plating their creations. They can take home their treats to share with their families or gobble them up themselves!
Relaxation is calling! Campers will create homemade spa essentials, like sugar body scrub, flavored lip balm, fizzy bath bombs, and more! We will experiment with natural ingredients like honey, coconut and essential oils to create a variety of at-home remedies.
Lights. Camera. Action! Have you ever wondered how movies are made? Why are there so many names at the end? Welcome to FilmKids. In FilmKids, students will have the opportunity to participate in all sides of filmmaking. From writing to acting, directing to producing, camera (also known as cinematography) to editing, students will work together each day to create a variety of different film projects with real cameras and gear. So whether you are a future documentarian, the next Spielberg, Denzel or Streep, come have fun with us and let's make a movie together. The best way to learn is by doing. See you on-set!
Do you like puzzles? Inspired by the popular Escape Room concept, this is an interactive and team building class, focused on getting kids moving, thinking outside the box and working together! Each day a new story/ challenge will be presented. Students will learn how to work together using logic and wit, to race the clock in order to solve whatever challenge or mystery the day might bring. This year we have all new escape rooms never seen before!
This session in our Hand Sewing class as always, we will be having fun while learning basic and some more advanced hand stitches. Attendants will pick an individual project to work on. Depending on the participants level we will be sewing a multitude of choices- color selection, fabric options, design and proportion to help kids stimulate their creative thinking skills. Completing a project fosters a sense of accomplishment. Hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills develop through the use of the hands, and exercises in following directions along with problem solving skills are all added benefits of sewing experiences for children.
Expelliarmus! Hogwarts’ Magic Workshop is here to amaze with spells, tricks, props, and techniques for our young wizards. Following the Code of Gryffindor, students will be just like Harry Potter and develop new skills, dexterity, creativity, stage presence, and self-confidence. All props are provided, and a new trick is sent home each class! Join us as we learn tricks, have house competitions, wizard games and more!
