COMMUNITY IS A VERB

For 45 years, Children’s Community School has flourished because families continuously choose to show up, participate, and invest in one another. Community isn’t just a passive state—it is an active commitment.

At CCS, we teach our children that being part of a group means caring for it and contributing to its well-being. The Annual Community Fund gives parents and supporters, the opportunity to model that exact principle. Someone sustained this vibrant environment for our children; now, we pass the torch to protect our present and secure what comes next.

Why your gift matters now

In a world filled with economic and cultural complexities, protecting what matters most becomes our highest priority. A progressive education equips our children with the adaptability, empathy, and critical thinking required for an unpredictable future.

Model the Values We Teach
Demonstrate to our students that thriving communities require active, intentional participation.

Honor a 45-Year Legacy
For 45 years, families have chosen to invest in what comes next. Today, that responsibility belongs to us. Build upon the foundation laid by past families who built our campus and established our financial aid endowment.

Protect What Matters
Ensure our school remains financially resilient and grounded in progressive pedagogy regardless of external pressures.

“We see CCS preparing our children to be leaders and innovators with the skills of problem-solving, collaboration, and cooperation. We give because...we hope that our collective contributions assist CCS in fostering a brighter future for our kids.”

Many employers match donations made to 501(c)(3) non-profits. Please enter the name of your company below to see if they match a gift. Additionally, many organizations only match on Giving Tuesday, so be sure to hold off on donating until that date if this is true of your company so that CCS can reap an additional benefit from your generosity.

Community Fund dollars ensure we provide generous salaries and benefits packages; enable employees to attend professional development sessions such as the Learning & the Brain Conference and the Institute for Descriptive Inquiry; and provide financial flexibility for us to staff the position of Student Support/Curriculum Coordinator.

To support belonging, we invite performers from a range of backgrounds to come to campus, launch Affinity Groups, and create events that celebrate the diversity of the human experience. Our focus on this effort is also visible in our engagement with local senior centers, connection with our community via events like BooksGiving, and the priority we place on social-emotional well-being with our on-staff consultant, Lisa Brauer, and DEIJ work with consultant Monique Marshall.

Community Fund donations are integral to keeping our campus and training protocols up to date. Recent donations that have been allocated to facilities have paid for our partnership with Joffe Emergency Services, the new entry gate at the pedestrian entrance, updated turf, the redesigned library, and the creation of The Nest and our outdoor classroom.

In the recent past, we have added the Illustrative math program, Heggerty Bridge to Reading program, two 3D printers to our STEM lab, new Physical Education equipment, and more thanks to the Community Fund. The staff will also be able to attend the Progressive Education Network conference as a team this fall. Your donations directly impact the daily instruction students receive and ensure they are provided a cutting-edge curriculum with state-of-the-art equipment and tools.

Donations to the Community Fund provide resources so that we can employ working artists that relate their learnings to our students. In recent years, gifts to the Fund have enriched their programs with items like new instruments, an updated art studio, and the auditorium divider.

Diversity is at the heart of Children’s Community School, and it flourishes on our campus in all aspects of life, including socio-economic diversity. To maintain our industry-leading standards of providing substantial financial aid to families, we rely on donations to the Community Fund. Over 40% of the students at CCS receive tuition assistance, which is only possible thanks to your generosity.

We asked the children of CCS...

"What Does 'GIVING' Mean to You?"

...and here's what they had to say.
