A message from our Head of School

AZIZI WILLIAMS

At CCS, we believe children learn best when they are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and follow their curiosity. Our classrooms are alive with discussion, discovery, and hands-on projects that help students build both deep knowledge and a love of learning. We create a warm and supportive environment where every child is known and valued, and where collaboration between students, teachers, and families strengthens the educational experience. It is the energy, creativity, and commitment of our entire community—students, parents, faculty, and staff—that makes CCS such a vibrant and inspiring place to grow. I invite you to visit us and see firsthand how learning at CCS unfolds.

TK Program Launching Fall 2026!

This is a wonderful way for your child to become acclimated to an elementary school campus while having dedicated time for free play and exploration. Your young learner will explore art, music, science, math and more—finding joyful ways to explore concepts that they can build on in early elementary and beyond.

Why Progressive Education

Progressive education offers the same foundation as traditional schools, but is a bit different in its approach—students learn by doing and are encouraged to follow their curiosity. This allows CCS to focus on the whole child, and lead with what children find interesting so that they develop life-long learning. We provide education that fosters democracy, as classrooms offer opportunities for reflection and discussion that opens minds. This approach allows students to foster inquiry, better understand themselves, respect others and develop creative problem solving skills.

Application Process

Step 1

This is a simple digital form that allows us to understand your family and what your child’s interests, skills and needs are. After you apply, you will be provided a Teacher Recommendation Form, that will be returned from the teacher directly to CCS. Please note that at the time of application submission there is a $125 fee per application. We also request a family photo at this time, but this is not required.

Step 2

These conversations are conducted with our Senior Administrative Staff. This 30-minute conversation gives prospective parents an opportunity to ask questions that are specific to their family and gives CCS a chance to get to know you! We will reach out to schedule this once the application is received.

Step 3

Our senior staff members observe applicant students in their current class. Children do not know they are being observed, and we do not interact with your child. We believe that watching your child play, peer interactions, as well as talking with their teachers, is a great way to build an understanding of your child. For higher grades we have a different process, which includes an on-campus shadow day at CCS.
